At first, you feel a pull. In which direction, you do not know. When a portal of shimmering black and glittering stars appears in front of you, it only seems natural to step into it. On the journey, it is as if you see everything: ancient galaxies wheeling through space, cultures born and growing and leaving their planets, lights creeping over planets and them winking out all at once. You see the hungry arm of a black hole, an enigmatic smile under a mirrored mask, a fist clenched tight around an endless sword. Fangs shining in starlight, bandaged feet that have traveled so many miles and still remain sturdy, and code shattering under titanium will.

And then your feet touch solid ground again, and what you have seen is suddenly hard to recall, the merest of glimpses springing to mind when you try to think back.

You awaken in a room; sleek and metallic, rows of neat narrow beds along the wall, screens displaying empty statistics above them. A med bay. A long window along the side peers out into infinite black, countless stars flashing in the expanse. Confused and discombobulated, you manage to focus your vision enough to see a robot fluttering up to you, perching on the back of a nearby chair to greet you.

"Welcome," the birdform greets cheerfully, "to the
Theorem of the Astral Rose! My name is Starling's Lament in Flight, but you may call me Starling's Lament, if you like! You are no doubt wondering why you are here: allow me to elucidate."

You begin to realize there are other robots in the room, too. Snakeforms, dogforms, even a few that look humanoid. Many of them are peeking curiously at you: a catform peers around the corner, a spiderform emerges from its nano-web, and other birdforms chatter excitedly among themselves about the new arrival.

"You have been accidentally pulled through a wormhole bridging your universe with ours, but fret not! The Ascendants intercepted your signal, and in their generosity, they brought you here aboard this ship. All aboard this ship have been charged with an important mission: to travel outside of Alliance space, find uncharted planets, explore and catalogue, all in search of--" it pauses, seemingly to add emphasis and importance, "--the Song." It brightens, ruffling its metal feathers. "Are you excited, Wayfarer?"

Hello, potential Wayfarers! THEOREM is a panfandom, invite-only, space exploration and adventure game (largely scifi with a little bit of fantasy), inspired by No Man's Sky, Honkai Star Rail, A Psalm for the Wild-Built, and post-rock groups like 65daysofstatic, A Swarm Of The Sun, and God Is An Astronaut. Wayfarers are pulled from different universes to serve on the Theorem of the Astral Rose, a base ship charged with exploring distant alien planets, all in search of the mysterious Song.

Wayfarers will be employed by five different Divisions -- Security, Science & Engineering, Medical, Support, Research & Archives -- in order to best explore and catalogue every new planet they set foot on. Likewise, they will also find themselves bonded to one of six Edicts, cosmic gods whose tales around the universe twist and warp almost as much as the gods themselves, and this bond will have various effects during events.

They will also be encouraged to claim a free personal spaceship, which they will be able to use as transport and as a home base as they wish, in addition to modifying and upgrading it with credits earned.

The game will work on a four month cycle: the exploration of the wilderness of the new planet, contact with a new civilization, further relationship building with that civilization, and finally, being aboard the Theorem as they travel to a new planet. There will be overarching plots not just for the individual planets, but for the ship as a whole, largely involving the mysterious Ascendents, the Song, and the Edicts.
