MINIMUM AGE
Players must be 18 years or older to join this game. Though it is not a smut game, it is intended for adults to be allowed to play those themes in threads if they so choose.
Characters must be at minimum 18 years or older, though exceptions may be made in the cases of non-human characters with non-human lifespans like robots or animals that look, act, and think as adults.
DON'T BE AN ASSHOLE
Above all, the mod wants Theorem's players to be able to feel safe in a space that supports their rights to not be abused and harassed. Players must treat others with courtesy and respect; do not set out to deliberately antagonize other players.
Specifically, do not:
- spam players with unwanted messages trying to force them to reply to you
- push a ship onto another player when they are not interested
- godmod, aka write for characters that are not your own without permission
- infomod, aka write as if your character knows information they cannot feasibly know
- engage in extremely negative CR without the player's permission
- ignore stated boundaries and permissions
- confuse ic and ooc feelings
- do anything to a character without their player's permission, ie. injury, killing, etc
If in doubt, either ask the player, or ask a mod. If you experience harassment, abuse, or ignoring of your permissions, please contact a mod. Please refrain from toxic gossip and talking shit behind other people's backs.
If you are found to be acting in a way counter to these rules, you will be spoken to and asked to stop. If you do not stop, you will be removed from the game.
BE ACTIVE
AC is 5 log-style comments a month in a single thread. You will be removed from the game for failing to meet AC. You may ask for a hiatus for up to one month, but you will be expected to make AC the next two months. If you are taking too many hiatuses -- ie. every third month -- your position in the game may be reconsidered, especially if a player cap gets introduced.
If you have to drop, you can apply for that character two more times. If you drop and reapply more than that, you will not be accepted.
Activity is rewarded in the form of Credits, and fun things to buy!
MAKE SURE TO USE CONTENT WARNINGS
If your characters are going to engage in smut, please put an NSFW warning on the instigating tag. If you as a writer are going to mention sensitive topics -- like self-harm, suicide, eating disorders, extreme violence, rape, abuse, drug use, and so on -- please put a content warning in the title of your tag, so that people with sensitivities toward those topics can choose to avoid them if they wish.
PROHIBITED CONTENT
Most topics are fine as long as you warn for them, however the mod would like to ask that people do not engage in rape threads, and underage smut threads. Characters must be 18+ to engage in smut threads.
DISCUSS WITH YOUR FELLOW WRITERS
If you are confused about a tag that someone wrote, uncomfortable with a topic that your thread partner has introduced, or concerned about another writer, please speak to them. We would prefer for players to try to solve problems among themselves before approaching a mod.
Above all else, respect your thread partner's boundaries. Read their permissions, make sure you're not making them uncomfortable, make sure they're receptive to your ideas. Do not attempt to harass, guilt, or pressure other players into your plots.
NEED MOD INTERVENTION?
If communication has failed, please come to a mod. Do not message the mod's private plurk: go through official channels, and contact the mod journallamentus. Please provide proof of what has been happening, and the mod will investigate before taking action.
Let it be known that the mod will also pre-emptively ban some players with a known history of bad behaviour in games.
